5 a DaY!

Sometimes it can get confusing as to just exactly what a serving size is. Here are some helpful hints to aid you in your 5 a day success!
(There are a lot of helpful hints at www.slimfast.com and www.weightwatchers.com. Those sites also contain some healthy recipes. I will try some and post them if them if they are any good.)

Serving sizes:

1/2 cup cooked vegetables = 1 serving
1/2 cup raw vegetables = 1 serving

1 med fruit (4oz or about the size of a baseball) = 1 serving
1/2 cup fresh cut up, frozen or canned fruit (in natural syrup) = 1 serving
1 banana = 2 servings

1 cup leafy greens = 1 serving

***Remember FIVE servings equals ONE point!***

Does anyone have some suggestions on what to eat to solve your sweet tooth cravings. I have tried eating fruit for the natural sugars but it hasn't helped so far. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Michelle,

Try eating the 90 calorie granola bars or a handful of sweetened cereal. Our favorite granola bars are the Quaker Oatmeal and Raisin. Kashi cereal is satisfies the sweet and cruchy cravings.
