Words of Inspiration!

Okay, this is for all of you who have made some progress in the weight loss area of the competition. If you are like me and have lost little weight (even though you have given up your FAVORITE beverage, soda) and need a little bit of a pick-me-up lets hope that some of our fellow competitors can give us that needed inspiration. If you are losing weight PLEASE post a comment and tell us about it. Share something enlightening that will make us want to keep going! We want to hear from you! Post even if you aren't losing weight, we want to know what kind of progress you are making.
Thanks everyone!

I have also given up my favorite beverage:( I feel like I am making healthier choices but I have lost 2 pounds only to gain it back. My sweet tooth weakness is getting the best of me. In terms of weight lost, think about the pounds you have lost in relation to the same amount of weight in cubes of butter - i.e. 1 lb. of weight compared to 1 lb. of butter (1 box), that is significant. Do not despair! Maybe we should consider rewarding more points per pound lost to increase the incentive. I would love to hear how everyone is doing as far as weight lost and lifestyle changes. Keep up the good work!!!!

Well the first two weeks I don't know if I lost weight because we didn't have a scale. So I never paid any attention to the fact that I had or had not lost weight. I just mainly focused on what I was eating and getting use to not eating or drinking what I love. I have to say it was very hard at first but this little competition has given me a lot of inspiration and motivation to be healthier. I haven't completely given up everything. I will once in a while give into a craving so that later on my body won't still crave it and I end up eating more to satisfy the craving. (if that makes sense). I think that the longer you crave something the hard it is to resist the temptation so give in just once but be strong not to continue eating it. Since I got the scale I lost 8 pounds last week to gain 2 back. I am still excited I lost 6. I feel healthier and have a little bit more energy each day. I'm excited to hear more about everybody and their progress as well. KEEP IT UP WE CAN DO IT!!!!

I started thinking about this, and though I haven't lost much weight I am starting to notice a few differences. The nice fat roll that my bra squishes, is looking better, and feeling tighter. My arms are feeling firmer and B even said they are starting to look "cut"...ohhh! Also, I have some SERIOUS cracks in my fingers in the winter, to the point that they bleed. Since I have been chugging the water, they seem to have disapeared. Jaimie did my hair last week and said that it looked and felt really healthy, she could have been feeding me one or it could be the vitamin. Small and simple improvements that I acredit to this Lifestyle makeover.

We did not have a scale at home either until last week sometime. I think I have lost a pound since purchasing the scale. I have to get my portions under control. Food just tastes good and it is so much easier to do the five vegetables and fruits in the summer when it is more readily available. Any good ideas on that because I am getting sick of bananas and I don't like pears. My girls eat all the apples before I think about them being there and I almost made myself throw up the first week of the challenge using carrots as my snack. That was probably more than you all wanted or needed to know. I think Karl has lost maybe four pounds since this started but I am noticing the extra exercise on him. Isn't it great to have spouses that keep an eye on those things for us!

Since Susan is not posting a comment, I will for her. I heard she has not had one soda, and even more impressive, not one sweet treat since the challenge started. WOW!!!! Way to go Susan. Keep up the good work!
